Activities Committee Meeting
Thursday, October 18, 2007
4:00 P.M. – Clubhouse


1.    Call to Order

    Faye Froehlich called the meeting to order on Thursday, October 18 at 4:01 P.M.

2.    Attendance

3.  Approval of Minutes
    The minutes of the previous meeting (April 12, 2007) were posted on the web page and in office.  Motion made by Betty Brice to accept minutes and seconded by Louise Cannizzaro.  Motion approved.

4.  Treasurer’s Report
    Mike Manfre submitted the following written report to the committee:

    Ed Davis moved to accept the report and Margaret Stokes seconded the motion.  Motion approved.

5.  Committee Reports
Cookbooks. 
Louise Cannizzaro suggested we reduce the price of the cookbook to $8.00 and try to sell the remaining books.  Holly O’Connor moved to accept the recommendation and it was seconded by Mickey Flanders.  The motion passed.

Coffee and Donuts. 
Sadie Lee reported that this event will start on Monday, November 5.  Cost per person will be $1.50.

Bingo. 
Marge Gotro said Bingo would start on Monday, January 7.  She will post a sign-up sheet for volunteers.

Biking. 
This year the biking group is going to try scheduling monthly excursions.  If interested, contact Vince O’Connor.

Web Page. 
Holly O’Connor reminded members that the web page has up-to-date e-mail addresses, phone numbers, and northern addresses.  The only way to keep this information current is for residents to report any changes to the web master, Vince O’Connor or Dennis Catoe.

6. Old Business
    
    Television.
We are waiting to see what the Board of Govenors plans to do about replacing the television.  It was mentioned that some type of security for the television and/or the clubhouse be in place prior to replacing the television

        Wish List. 
Items remaining on the wish list are tables and umbrellas for the pool area, curtain for the bingo board, and a water cooler for the golf course at the restrooms near Glen Abbey.

7.  New Business
    Welcome Back Party. 
Marge Gotro and Jan Booker are in charge of this event.  If we can get the disk jockey to adjust his time, this will be a Welcome Back Brunch around the pool from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.

    Thanksgiving Dinner. 
Mike Manfre will coordinate this event.

    Valentine’s Day Party. 
Ernie Paoletti will coordinate this event.

    Entertainment Books. 
Pat Hodor is selling Entertainment books for $30.00.  Proceeds will go to the activity committee account.

        Jan Dorak presented information on a tour guide who specializes in one day trips for condos, church groups and manufactured-home parks.  Check your bulletin board for more information.

        Pat Blood, Jan Dorak’s co-building representative, is in the hospital having a knee replacement.  She will then go to rehab.  We will send a get-well card to her from the activity committee.

        Faye Froehlich presented 2 letters to the committee from Dennis Billingham.  He will be sent a response.

8.  Adjournment
    A motion to adjourn was made by Holly O’Connor and seconded by Betty Brice.  Faye Froehlich adjourned the meeting at 4:45 p.m.
