Reports
from Committees
Bingo
Harley submitted the
following report on behalf of Barbara Illies, Chairperson for Bingo for this season.
It was another
successful season of bingo at Golfview.
There were thirteen sessions which were well attended and seemed
that
everyone who participated, had a good time, including the volunteers. This year there were five bingo teams
with between six and eight members on each team. Bingo
was able to repay its loan to the Activities Committee
in the amount of $800.00. If all
goes well, the loan should be paid in full by the end of next year's
bingo
season. Barbara Illies was
chairperson of the committee this season and along with her co-chairs,
did a
fine job and should receive the thanks from Golfview for the work that
she
did. Marge Gotro will be
chairperson in the coming years and volunteers would be welcomed by her.
Bingo has a total of
$1072.65 in its checking account and a total of $104.32 in petty cash
and bingo
seed money.
This will be my last
year of volunteering on bingo. It
will be my eighth year. It's time
for others to step up. I hope that
in the coming year. The Board of Governors can be convinced that the
proper
place for the bingo display is on the wall. The
stand is not meant to be moved as much as it is and I'm
afraid the display will fall and be broken beyond repair.
6.
Old
Business
Remember When
Marge reported that
all tickets were sold and it was very successful. Money
raised went to pay for pianist and refreshments for
cast party. She also purchased
some items for the kitchen. Holly
thanked Marge for all her hard work on the production.
Next year the show
will be on February 17th.
Marge also talked about getting spotlights for future
productions. Jim Markusen suggested that
we look
into renting the lights.
Holly O'Connor also
suggested that we have a matinee and evening performance next year to
accommodate all the people who wanted to see it this year.
Rummage
Sale/Bazaar
March 17, 2006 was
placed on the calendar for the rummage sale. After
discussion, most people felt this date should be
changed. They felt that St.
Patrick's Day would not be a good day to have it. A
new date will be picked after looking at the calendar.
7.
New
Business
Farewell Party
The following report
was submitted for the Farewell Party.

Betty and Louise
announced Glen Abbey and Westchester are resigning from doing the
Farewell
party for next year. A discussion for new buildings to take over the
responsibility will be addressed at the October meeting.
Fireworks July 4th
On Tuesday, July 4,
2006, Golfview's fireworks
will be held. Jim Markusen will do the fireworks this year. The might be fewer fireworks, but they
will be much better. John Wasem
will be one of the ones doing the Barbequing this year. There will be a
meeting
in May to discuss the details of the cookout and fireworks. Last year's price of $5.00 per person
will probably go up this year. The
price will be determined at a later date.
Meeting day and
time next Season
Betty Brice brought
up the possible change in day and time for the Activities Committee to
meet. A few people have to give up
volunteering time to attend the meeting. Betty suggested that we could
have the
meeting on Thursdays at 4 pm. The
only activity slated for Thursdays, is biking. Those
who bike, should be back by 4 pm. After
further discussion, this day and
time was ok'd by those present.
Therefore next season, the second Thursday of the month at 4 pm
will be
the new time for the Activities Committee Meetings. However in October,
the meeting will be the third
Thursday, October 19th, so more people will have returned to
Golfview.
Entertainment
books
Marge Gotro will not
be able to be in charge of entertainment books this year due to her
involvement
with bingo. She has already called
the company and they will be delivered in July. Pat
Hodor volunteered to sell the books this year. Jack
Verdette has also volunteered to
help sell the books.
Coffee on Mondays
Red Hats Society will
continue to do the coffee and donuts next year.
Special Thanks
Holly O'Connor
thanked Marge Gotro for her years served on the Activities Committee. All those present gave Marge a nice
round of applause for her service to the community.
8.

O'Connor and seconded by Louise Cannizzaro to adjourn the meeting. The motion passed. The
