    --  Entertainment Book Report
Kay Yanochko reported for Kitty Nagy.  82 Entertainment Books were sold at a profit of $6 each ($492).  7 "free" books were sold for a profit of $210, giving us a $702 total profit.  She still has 2 books left available for sale.  They will have to be returned or sold.

--  Thanksgiving and New Years’ Eve Reports
In Mike Manfre's absence, members who attended the parties reported.  Thanksgiving was "terrific,"...plenty of food and about 70 people in attendance.
New Years' Eve party was not well attended.  It was OK.

--  TOMMY O  and Del Prados Report Concerts
Holly O'Connor reported on the Tommy O Concert (Dec. 9) sold 84 tickets in clubhouse @6.00 - It seemed that everyone had a great time.  We will try to get him back again next year.

The Del Prados concert is scheduled for next Tuesday, Jan 20.  Tickets have been given to building reps to be sold for $5.00 ea.  Due to this concert, there will be no Tuesday night social next week.  5 bulding reps have turned in their monies there are about 15 people on the waiting list.

    --  Other Committee Reports
Station 95:  We're looking for someone to take over this activity.  Sadie Lee will help the person(s) get going.

6.    Old Business
    --  Clubhouse Guidelines
We tried to get the Board of Governors to approved the checklist we put together a couple of years ago.  There was alot of discussion at their meeting as to whether or not it was needed and if it was too stringent.  Holly offered to redo the checklist and it will be presented to the Board at its January meeting.

--  Report on Microwave and Amplifier
Both have been purchased.  A shelf will be made for the Microwave.  We are looking at a locking cabinet for the Amplifier.  Found a nice looking oak cabinet for $200.  Discussion included suggestions that this be delayed until we complete plans for other cabinetry in the clubhouse.

    --  Sink
Kay Yanochko  distributed pictures of sinks and cabinets and cost options
Proposal #1  one double sink, faucet, disposal, 5 cabinets  ($1380)
Proposal #2  two sinks, two faucets, disposal, 4 cabinets  ($1247)
Discussion included seeking advice from an owner who does this kind of construction and who is also looking at possible cabinets for storage of the long tables.
It was moved and seconded that the committe authorize up to $1600 for this project.  Motion passed by unanimous voice vote.

    --  Table Cloths
Betty Brice has found a set of table cloths at Burlington Coat Factory for $8.00 each.  We need another set to cover cases where one party follows another without time to clean the set we have.
It was moved and seconded to approve this purchase.  Motion passed by unanimous voice vote.

    --  Molded Card Tables
Betty Brice reported that Sam's has 37" card tables with molded tops (identical to our rectangular tables) at $37.76 each.  It was recommended that we buy 6 of them to replace the heavy, awkward square tables that are in the activity room now.
It was moved and seconded to approve this purchase.  Motion passed by unanimous voice vote.

    --  Grill Committee
Ed Davis (Pinehurst) Jim Brice (Glen Abbey), Dennis Cannizzaro (Westchester), Tony Valvo (Sawgrass) Ron Hodor (Muirfield) Tom Duffey (St. Andrews) and Ed DeCrosta (Inverness) are signed up to coordinate usage of the community grill.  If someone in each of the three other buildings wants to get "trained" in the use of the grill, contact Ed Davis.

    --  Talent Show
This will probably have to be cancelled for lack of interest.

    --  Refrigerator
Jan Dorak's intention to donate a refrigerator in Mel's memory must be referred to the Board of Governors and that will be done at its next meeting.  Discussion revealed that some freezer storage is also necessary, so the kitchen remodeling will need to include a small freezer.

Margaret Stokes moved that we recommend acceptance of the refrigerator with a big "Thank You" to Jan Dorak.  Marge Gotro seconded the motion.  Motion passed by unanimous voice vote.

    --  AED
An AED presentation was made to Board of Governors last month.  At this month’s meeting, the board will vote whether or not Golfview will become a Heart Healthy Community.  Holly told the board that the Activity committee would pay for the device.  We will try to get 2 people from each building (possibly the building reps) to take the training.  Training costs $20.00 per person.

It was moved and seconded that the Activities Committee authorize these two expenditures and recommend approval from the Board of Governors.  Motion passed by unanimous voice vote.

    --  Red Hat Society
Sadie Lee will be trying to start a chapter of the Red Hat Society here.  Organization meeting is set for Friday, 1/20 at 10:00 AM.

    --  Other Old Business
Marge Gotro asked that activity coordinators take a copy of the revised evaluation sheet /activities guide and try it out.

7.    New Business
    --  Cookbook
Volunteers will meet to discuss whether or not we want to undertake this project and have the books ready for sale next fall.  Interested members will meet next Wed 1/21 at 1:30 PM in clubhouse.

    --  Craft/Bake Sale Next Year
This will be on the agenda next meeting.  We need to decide if we want to hold one again next year.
Virginia Smith has materials started for a quilt/pillow covers and would like to know if there is a desire to have such a sale again next year, otherwise she'll give it to her kids/grandkids.  After a brief discussion, the concensus was that we would not be using it for a raffle item.

--  Activity Committee Report at Building Meetings
It was suggested that building reps ask get activity committee reports on the agenda for building meetings and pot lucks.

    --  Other Business
Edna Ritchea is looking for bowlers.  They need at least one and substitutes.
Valentine party is Sat. 14th.  6:30-9:30
Superbowl  party is Sunday 2/1. They need TV's.
There was a discussion about people not respecting the organizers of an event and staying on while the clubhouse was being cleaned up and even staying after the clubhouse was locked up.  It was suggested that the organizers announce to these people that they are now in charge and responsible for final cleaning and closing up.

8.    Adjourn

Holly O'Connor adjourned the meeting at 4:40 PM

Next Meeting:  February 11, 2004
