4.    Treasurer’s Report

Mike Manfre reported that the committee started the year with $93.80 in petty cash.  Transactions left us with $151.99 at the end of January.  The Committee checking account  started with $1,652.43.  Various transactions left us with $1,381.84 at the end of January.  After deposits from the sale of Entertainment Books and $9,062.18 proceeds from the bazaar, the committee has $11,579.38 in checking as of this date.

5.    Reports from Committees

    --  Super Bowl Party

Kitty Nagy reported 75 tickets were sold at $5.  Made $26.85 over expenses

    --  Upcoming Valentine’s Day Dance

Ernie Paoletti reported that 100 tickets have been sold.

    --  Coffee/Donut Report

Kitty Nagy reported for Ann Cabral:
$318.25 has been taken in, with expenses of $262.19.  Profit:  $56.06

    --  Other Committee Reports

BINGO
Harley Greenberg reported that $3581.56 is in the BINGO Checking account.  Figuring $80.20 profit per session, by the end of the season they will have about $4000 and will be able to buy a new BINGO set up, one that is totally electronic and easier for the volunteers.  They will make a presentation at the next meeting.
Garden Committee
Jim Markusen submitted a written report from the Garden Committee.  The Gardening Committee met in early Fall and the consensus was that each building will handle planting in their own areas.  Jim walked the course with Dennis Catoe and discussed areas that needed supplemental plantings and additional color highlights.  Most were accomplished shortly after that.  Some plants and bushes may attract insects and diseases which could spread to the course.  Plantings around the palm trees will always be a problem since they are competing with the palms for water and nourishment.

The cold December and January has caused stress and slow growth in many of the flowers and shrubbery around our property.  Warmer nights and sunny days should bring them back.
Pancakes
No one was in attendance to report.  It was noted that tables were not put away.  Dick Hackley has recruited Don Smith and Howard Aschburner to work with him for the rest of this year and take over next fall.
Blood Mobile  It was reported that the Blood Mobile did well on Monday.

Water Aerobics:  Bobby Kneram requested money for water aerobics.
She asked for new "noodles" and a boombox totalling $55.07.  She indicated she needs a boombox with CD capabilities.

It was questioned why we would provide noodles.  Shouldn't that be supported by the individuals who use them?  Because of this, it was decided to craft two separate motions.

Mike Manfre moved that we approve the purchase of the boom box.  Ed Davis seconded the motion.  Motion passed unanimously.

Bobbie Kneram moved to approve the purchase of noodles.  Faye Froehlich seconded the motion   Show of hands vote resulted in 4 in favor, 15 opposed.  Motion failed.
Table Cloths:  It was reported that Olga Shea wants us to buy table cloths (she had purchased for the Coffee and Donuts) from her.

Newsletter:  It was asked whether we would be having a newsletter this year.  It was suggested that the chair of Newsletter be contacted.
