Annual Meeting
March 14, 2003
Tom Duffey called the meeting to order at 9:30 AM.
2. Proof of Notice of Meeting.
Dennis Catoe reported that the Association complied with the annual meeting notice requirements in accordance with Florida statutes and the certificate is on file in the Golfview office.
Present: Jerry Ankers, Tom Duffey, Jack Gross, Bob Margolin, William Moore, Vince O’Connor, Jerry Ross, Tony Rizzo, Ernie Smith, and Cliff Swanson.
Absent: NONE
Also Present: Dennis Catoe, Golfview Manager
Jack Gross moved to approve the minutes of the 3/14/2002 Annual Meeting as written. Bob Margolin seconded the motion. Motion passed by voice vote: 10-0.
Barry Humble reported on the 2002 audit. He indicated that 2002 revenue was up about $30,000 over the previous year (2001) mainly due to a $25,000 increase in fees. There was a $6,000 increase in expenses, and green fees were stable. The audit reflected a $18,000 profit, but after considering various "paper charges, we actually had about $5,000 profit. He also indicated that the committee is looking for about $7,000 profit in 2003. He said we are in reasonably good shape and green fees are holding up.
He concluded by thankin Dennis Catoe for his fine accounting work.
Jack Gross said he was going to rescind his vote for the card system.7. Unfinished Business
Bob Margolin reported that sawgrass owners voted against the card system and he complimented the people who worked to make the bazaar a big success.
Gerry Ross moved that we rescind the motion of 2/26/03 to approve the card access system for the clubhouse at a cost of no more than $7500. Ernie Smith seconded the motion.
Board members related reactions from owners in their buildings during annual meetings, cited costs for installation and upkeep, questioned the need, and indicated that we could accomplish much the same thing by issuing keys to everyone. Other board members said that they still felt the card access system was needed to provide secure access to all owners, especially during the summer.
A vote by show of hands was taken on the motion to rescind the action of 2/26/03.
Jerry Ankers (No), Tom Duffey (Yes), Jack Gross (Yes), Bob Margolin (Yes), William Moore (Yes), Vince O’Connor (No), Jerry Ross (Yes), Tony Rizzo (No), Ernie Smith (Yes), and Cliff Swanson (Yes).
Motion passed, 7 in favor, 3 against.
Tom Duffey indicated that two new board members had been elected by their neighborhood associations, Margaret Stokes (Glen Abbey) and Art Lyall (Pebble Beach).
He thanked Cliff Swanson and Bill Moore for their service to the board and community.
Gerry Ross observed that we have appropriated money for various things and indicated that he wanted the Board to set a priority list in case we run short of funds. No motion was made in support of that idea.
Jerry Ankers asked that access to clubhouse be put on agenda for the Board's April meeting.10. Adjournment
Jack Gross moved to adjourn. Gerry Ross seconded the motion. Motion passed unanimously.
Tom Duffey adjourned the meeting at 10:05 AM
