Minutes of the Meeting
1. Call to Order
Tom Duffey called the meeting to order at 2:00 PM.
2. Roll Call:
Present: Ed Davis (Pinehurst), Bert DiDonato (Pebble Beach), Tom Duffey (St. Andrews), Jack Gross (Muirfield), Jack Hibbs (Inverness), Vince O’Connor (Westchester), Leo Prosperi (Turnberry), Margaret Stokes (Glen Abbey), and Tony Valvo (Sawgrass)
Absent: Tony Rizzo (Augusta)
Also Present: Dennis Catoe, Golfview Manager
3. Approval of Minutes for the February 23, 2006 Meeting.
Leo Prosperi moved to approve the minutes as printed and distributed. Margaret Stokes seconded the motion. Motion passed on a voice vote, 9-0.
4. Correspondence
Dennis Catoe indicated that there had been no correspondence to the Board.
5. Old Business
a. Proposal on Mute Swans
Bert DiDonato moved that we not purchase a pair of mute swans. Jack Gross seconded the motion. Motion passed on a voice vote, 9-0.
b. Golf Course Maintenance Contract
Vince O'Connor moved that we approve the contract with Pinnacle Landscapes, Inc. to provide maintenance for our golf course. Leo Prosperi seconded the motion.
Bert DiDonato moved to amend the motion making approval contingent upon Pinnacle Landscapes, Inc. providing Golfview with evidence that they have a minimum of $2 million liability insurance. Ed Davis seconded the motion. Amendment passed on a voice vote, 9-0.
Tony Valvo moved to amend the motion making approval contingent upon insertion of wording in the contract that the use of Golfview's equipment be limited to the Golfview premises. Leo Prosperi seconded the motion. Amendment passed on a voice vote, 9-0.
Bert DiDonato moved to amend the motion making approval contingent upon Pinnacle Landscapes, Inc. deleting the "Special Condition" (page 1) and item 2 under "Insurance" (page8) from the contract. Leo Prosperi seconded the motion. Amendment passed on a voice vote, 9-0.
Jack Gross moved to amend the motion making approval contingent upon Pinnacle Landscapes, Inc. providing Golfview with a certificate showing that they are providing workmen's compensation insurance for their employees. Tony Valvo seconded the motion. Amendment passed on a voice vote, 9-0.
Vince O'Connor moved to amend the motion making approval contingent upon insertion of the words "For incidents in excess of $1000 Pinnacle Landscapes, Inc., will obtain the approval of Golfview Mangement before proceeding with repairs." in the section "Golf Course Equipment/Repairs," item 1 (page 6). Leo Prosperi seconded the motion. Amendment passed on a voice vote, 9-0.
Vince O'Connor moved to amend the motion making approval contingent upon insertion of the words "and all "Drop" areas in the section "Golf Course Tees," item 4 (page 4). Jack Hibbs seconded the motion. Amendment passed on a voice vote, 9-0.
Leo Prosperi moved to amend the motion making approval contingent upon insertion of the words "will maintain and fill drinking water cooler on the fourth tee seven days a week" areas in the section "Golf Course Landscape Areas (not intended for golf play)," item 4 (page 5). Bert DiDonato seconded the motion. Motion passed on a voice vote 9-0.
There were no further amendments to the original motion.
The motion to approve the contract with Pinnacle Landscapes, Inc. subject to the amendments was then voted on. Motion passed on a voice vote, 9-0.
6. Adjournment
Tony Valvo moved to adjourn the meeting. Leo Prosperi seconded the motion.
Tom Duffey adjourned the meeting at 2:41PM.
