Our Newest Neighbors
Lakewood Village

Our turnout was great with nearly 100 women participating.  Even with the rainy weather that caused the first round of players to run for dry shelter, the golf scores took a backseat to the reason for being there as skilled and novice players showed their concern by playing or donating to this cause.

CHEERS to the men in our community who donated $1000 to the hole-in-one challenge at the 3rd pin.  What excitement -as the foursome watched Kay Yanochko's ball roll into the cup to claim that hole-in-one prize!!!

The camaraderie continued with a catered Iuncheon at the clubhouse and the awarding of prizes-- with those winning closest to the pin on Hole #3, Hole #6, and Hole #9.   Ten dollars was awarded for having the ball land in the ring on Hole #3.  Raffle winners for the day included Juanita Sheets - Pebble Beach - a putter; Nikki Schauer -Glen Abbey - a set of irons.
Each season we return to Golfview a new development is under construction. This season Lakewood Village has joined The Park and Colonial Pointe in developing all the available land surrounding our community.  Lakewood Village, to our north, has 192 townhouse units, the first four of which are under way.  This will be a gated community with a small lake in the center that is being sold from $160 to $170 thousand for the one car garage and two cars respectively.

Most of our concerns are centered on the fact that their land is about two feet higher elevation than ours and how will this affect our property.  Dennis met with the persons in charge.  Lakewood Village plans to install a 6 foot high black vinyl fence (chain link style) with appropriate landscaping to divide the two communities.  They are planning to slope the land toward our property line with a gradual slope to approximately 18 inches high and then the land will slope downward toward their property which should take care of the drainage problem.

Dennis is confident that the doors of communication between Pulte and Golfview are open and are amiable to our questions and concerns.
Over $4000 Raised For Cancer Cure
At Golfview

On January 27, Golfview held its annual Rally for a Cure tournament for breast cancer research under the organization of golf pro, Duane Nash.

Golfview has had its share of both scares and    deaths from this insidious disease.  We have all felt the effect of a loved one, whether family or friend, facing this ordeal.

Being the kind of community we are – we felt the need to contribute to or to be a part of the catalyst that finally finds an answer to this major problem for women and even men.
