Patricia Ann Koch

SANDUSKY – Patricia Ann Koch (nee Bauer), 78, of Sandusky, died Saturday, March 15, 2008 at Parkvue Healthcare Center, Sandusky.

She was born March 17, 1929 in Tiffin, OH and graduated from Calvert High School and Heidelberg College, Tiffin.

She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, Huron; the Huron Yacht Club; Needlepoint Guild of Sandusky; The Sandusky Sailing Club First Mates; and was a three time National Champion Interlake Class Crew Member.

She is survived by her husband, Paul, married to for 56 years; four sons, Mark Edward (Pat) Koch of Huron, Matthew Bauer (Lori) Koch, Brian Paul (Karen) Koch, and Curtis James (Janet) Koch, all of Sandusky; 10 grandchildren; and a sister, Jean Bauer Graham of Tiffin.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Bernard and Cecelia (Jacob) Bauer.

A memorial Mass will be held Wednesday, 10:30, March 19, 2008, at St. Peter Church, 430 Main Street, Huron with Rev. Jeffery Sikorski, officiating.

A private burial will take place at Oakland Cemetery, Sandusky.

By Thursday, the new sliders were in place.	These are category 3 doors.

The landscaping leading up to the first tee is looking good.	The practice area looks nice with the two newly planted trees.
This guy was looking for a new home this afternoon. His travels took him to #109 in Pebble Beach.
	He looked a bit nervous with the crowd that gathered.

	The first thing we noticed is that Hole in One Circle had been resealed and had some patchwork done. (left) The south entrance has been resurfaced. Included in the work was a modification of the speed bumps. Some have been eliminated and those that remain have been reshaped. (below left) This one is in front of St. Andrews. The side view (below right) shows how the bumps have been sloped at both the front and back edges. This one is near the entrance to Pebble Beach.

	Do you know what building this is? No, they really haven't modified the entrance to their building and they aren't trying to conceal their identity. Answer below.
Yep, it's Saint Andrews, and the canopy was "parked" while they did some refacing work on the center stack. The canopy was replaced on Monday, August 18th.
	St. Andrews also had their parking lot resurfaced. It looks pretty nice, especially if you had seen it in spring.
Preparations are being made to screen off the sand pile and dumpster at the golf maintenance building at the southwest corner of Hole in One Circle. The posts are in, and panels would have been placed on Monday, but they are delaying this work to see what happens with Tropical Storm/Hurricane Fay. (Below left) Side view of the screening project. 		We'll start today's walk-around with a quiz. Which building has a "guest" parking space under cover? Note: A fortunately positioned green fog came along just as this picture was taken, obscuring some landmarks that would give a clue to the answer. Click on any of these pictures to enlarge it.
Trimmers were busy today and yesterday working on the golf course trees and bushes.		The course looks very nice.
And while they were busy on our property, another crew was working on the dense overgrowth along the walking path next to the new construction on the west side (right).

	April 29, 2008 I hadn't been on our deck in a while, so I walked out there to check the view. I think the bench will be needing some repair soon. The view is very nice, especially with all the flowers and trees blooming.
	April 29, 2008 It was nice to see that they've closed the back tee box on number One. This should give the grass there a chance to recuperate.
	April 30, 2008 Work crews were busy trimming trees and bushes for two days. For more pics of this effort, click here.
	May 4, 2008 It was nice to see that the big dumpster had been removed. Unfortunately, they did not take the sofa that had been thrown in it. That sofa and some other items (child's car seat and a piece of luggage) were apparently too heavy to actually place in the small dumpster. Yetch.
	May 10, 2008 A crew was applying new sealing coats on the Sawgrass parking lot today. It sure looks good.
	May 10, 2008 Today was the day for Letter Carriers to have their food drive. This scene was typical of the mailboxes around Golfview. Note that the new phone books are here. Is someone taking care of yours?

	We're not sure what's going on by the Bocce Ball courts, but they caught our eye as we biked around Hole in One Circle today. It looks like work is afoot to improve these courts. Perhaps someone in the "know" will tell us what the plans are.

	Reduced play has really helped the course get back into shape. Next week they will be applying chemicals to control the Mole Cricket. Please plan accordingly.

Pebble Beach and Westchester get the "Cleanest Bike Rack" award this year.

	Looks like they're almost ready for water!!! Looks like a very nice job. To check on the progress since it started, look at the pictures posted at Picture Albums.
	Painters were masking the railings at Muirfield. They seem to be doing a very good job, with attention to detail.
	Check out the new stair treads at Westchester. When the walkways and stairs were painted, there was some splatter on the old stair treads. Check it out (and the new bench as well) on the Westchester page.

	Work on refurbishing the pool area near Glen Abbey and Turnberry is progressing. We think the workers needed to let the new surface "cure" a bit, so there was no activity today. To check on the progress since it started, look at the pictures posted at Picture Albums.

The golf course was closed today so that the greens could be aerated and sanded. They look good.


And progress was noted on the pool refurbishing project as well.


The red tape on the gate gives early warning that the	pool is not in use. See, no water!

For those of you up north already, you'll be glad to see	that we're experiencing a bit of a cool snap down here.

Water was pumped out of the pools starting early this morning.	A little while later, the dust barrier was installed and...
....work began on chipping away the tile caps.	Watch this space for further images of the progress on the pools.
