![]() Obituary Richard O. Helling, age 73 of N. Fort Myers, Florida and formerly of Burnsville, Minnesota passed away Thursday, March 20 after a courageous battle with cancer. Dick was born April 18, 1934 in Minneapolis. A graduate of Central H.S. and the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. He spent his career with NSP. He also served in the U.S. Air Force. Survived by wife of 54 years, Charlotte, daughter Laura (Scott) Helling-Christy, sons Dan (Camille) Helling and Robb Helling; grandchildren Luke (Sacha), Adam, and Micah Helling-Christy, Travis, Brooks, and Montana Jo Helling; great-grandchildren Alyana and River. And special Godchild Kim Bovee. Also survived by one brother Loren Helling and sisters Mary Gordenier and Betty Brown and many nieces and nephews. His loving heart and big smile will be missed. Services on Tuesday, March 25th at the First United Methodist Church 507 Marion in Punta Gorda, Florida at 11:00 am. Memorial preferred church, Hope Hospice, donors choice.
