Ed Clery, year-round resident in
Sawgrass, was seriously injured in a car accident on Sunday afternoon,
November17. Even if you don’t recognize the name I’m sure you all
know him. He is the fellow with the gold chains who walks around
the
complex and spends a lot of time at the swimming pool.
He was hunting in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula with a friend. The friend was driving and lost control on an icy road and hit a tree. Ed, who was not wearing a seatbelt, hit the windshield.
He has head injuries, a broken hip, broken ribs and other internal injuries. He is in a coma.
His wife, Marlene, flew up there on Monday to be with him.
Please keep Ed and Marlene in your prayers.
He is at Marquette General Hospital; 420 West Magnetic Street, Marquette, MI 49855

With the large incidence of virus attacks around Golfview's many
computer users, I found the following link to be interesting and
informative.
http://www.sophos.com/virusinfo/analyses/w32klezh.html
If you check it out, you will find descriptions of a "worm" that has been sending out fake messages to a large number of people at Golfview.

Golfview Folks:
You may have heard of some problems with the greens at Golfview. I have contacted Dennis Catoe and want to bring you up to date on what has happened and what is happening now.
Due to a chance occurance related to rain, clouds and temperature, a fungus developed on the greens and threatened the life of the greens' grass. Kevin Burke (our part time greenskeeper) began a course of treatment to remove the fungus.
Because the plan of attack did not seem to be working, and, fearing a complete loss of our greens, Dennis Catoe enlisted the aid of 4 area greenskeepers and they suggested a different treatment which was brought into play. The greens are now recovering.
There was never any problem with the fairway grass but it did look bad for a period of time because, for some unkown reason, it was cut shorter than usual.
Also, as a result of the disagreement on treatment, Kevin Burke terminated his employment with Golfview.
The fungus, by the way, also attacked other area golf courses.
Sincerely
Tom Duffey
