On April 19, 2004 Holly and I flew back to Fort Myers from Chicago.  Our flight path took us quite close to Golfview and the pics below give a pretty good look at this part of the world, including some of the very new developments that are underway.

I annotated this view, to get things started.

This one shows our "old" neighbors and the new ones to our south and to our north.  Note the work starting on the corner of Gladiolus and Winkler and the new Ekert Drugs on Summerlin.

This one shows Parker Lakes and the site of the new library at the end of Bass Rd.  You also get a peek at Laguna Lakes.

Here's a view of Reflection Lakes, Lakes Park, and the intersection of Summerlin and Gladiolus.

I've highlighted two areas that are starting development near us.  The area west of Lakes Park and east of Summerlin Rd. was cleared two years ago, but has not seen any subsequent work.  Now there is a new sign calling it "Reflection Key" and heralding new residential construction.  The area east of Lakes Park and west of US41 is the site of two 22-story luxury condos.

Here's a view of the developments south of Gladiolus and east of Winkler.  Heritage Farms is in the center.  A corner of Crown Colony is at the lower right.  Note gulf access is available to several of the communities in this view.

Here you can see the Forest (center) and Jamaica Bay (top).

Just south of the Forest you can see Terre Verde (with a 9-hole par-three golf course) and the Fort Myers Campground.  The vacant K-Mart building is seen at the far right.
