Start>Picture Albums>Six Mile Cypress Slough Preserve (4/08)

I hadn't been to the Six Mile Cypress Slough Preserve in a couple of years, so I decided to bike over there on Tuesday, 4/22/08 to see what's happening at this wonderful resource so close to Golfview.  The bike ride (in case you're considering it) was about 14 miles round trip from Hole in One Circle, through Lakes Park, with easy crossings at US 41, Six-Mile and Metro, and Six-Mile and Daniels Pkwy.

Watch for this sign as you head north on Six-Mile Cypress.

Nifty new bike rack just outside the new Interpretive Center.

The Interpretive Center opened on April 12th.  Looks nice.

Parking is now $1 per hour.  Bring your own cell phone.

Plants, birds, animals, and crawlies can be seen everywhere.

The Boardwalk winds its way through the preserve.

Can you spot the baby alligator?

Its "mommy" sure can.

I spotted this little guy and wonder who can identify him.

What a beautiful place to visit!  If you haven't been there lately, please give it a try.
