When Wilma Came Through, This palm at Pebble Beach took a beating...

But, Pebble Beach owners fought to save it and here it is today...November 16, 2005

ATTACHED IS A PHOTO OF GOLFVIEW OUTSIDE THE AUGUSTA DURING THE HURRICANE ABOUT 6PM MONDAY.

VERY INTERESTING?

Thanks, Bette.

Here are three pics from Jim Markusen.
These look west from Westchester.
They show flooding on Hole in One Circle
That's a bench along the walking path.
after Wilma left.

Water was getting close to our first floor doors.

After

This first set of pictures were taken on Tuesday morning, 10/25/05, after we returned to Golfview from our "vacation" at Disney.
Lakewood Blvd is impassible to the south (passing Colonial Pointe on the way to Sweet Bay).  Traffic lights were out in most of the county.
There was a lot of damage to the trees and gardens at the Edison Estate and along McGregor Blvd.  But on the whole, Lee County dodged
another bullet.  I took my camera and my bike and went around the circle (counterclockwise) to capture these images.

Lots of leaves on the ground, but at least the water receeded on Hole in One Circle.

Westchester had damage to one car-port.  Someone tied it down to keep it from blowing away.

The golf course looks good.  Most of the shingles were picked up by Tuesday afternoon.

Soffit and a roof hatch were seen among the other debris.

The walking path was blocked in several places along the west side of the property.

This palm shows the strength of the north wind that followed the hurricane.

Lollipop lights were hard hit, but most were being repaired by Wednesday.

While several trees were severely damages, Wilma was much kinder than Charlie.

Wilma decided to move the golf practice area south onto the tennis courts.

The "golf course rules" sign was leaning badly, but little damage was observed in this area

Four penthouse units in St. Andrews had their shutters pushed in by the north wind.

The pool deck showed the fine preparations that were made by management and staff.

The pool collected a lot of debris and will require a thorough cleaning before use.

Shuffleboard covers were damaged, but the benches were moved to safety before Wilma.

This street sign was uprooted at Hole in One and Lakewood.

On the northeast corner I saw a couple of trees down.

And this view back toward Turnberry showed a big pile of debris on their parking lot.

Back at Pebble Beach, this soffit damage was typical of the cosmetic damage we suffered.
